The mail came today, and what it brought to me is ten kinds of awesome! I got Mmmmmalabrigo! It’s from Sidney on Ravelry. The color is Cognac, and it’s a beautiful warm brown color. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it yet, but I might design some worsted weight fingerless gloves. I haven’t designed worsted weight ones yet, so it should be pretty awesome. Either that, or I’ll make myself a nice hat or maybe a hat and some mittens and a cowl! The possibilities are endles. I have 3 skeins of it, so there’s plenty of options. Here’s a photo of it, in all its yarny glory.

Isn’t it beautiful?
In other news, I knit a dishcloth. I usually don’t knit dishcloths, but I found an enormous ball of Bernat kitchen cotton and figured I’d whip one up for the dish washers of the house. It’s a really pretty variegated color that reminds me of stirring chocolate into milk. There’s a nice dark chocolate brown, a paler brown, and then white. I even took a picture of it to show you!

I knit it using the standard-nothing-fancy eyelet increases to 44 then decreasing. Nothing special, but I find it quite pretty in its simplicity. The fact that it only took me an hour and a half adds to its charm. It hasn’t been used to wash dishes yet. I’m keeping it around to admire for a while before it tackles the stuck-on grease.

Hmmm…. Malabrigo FGs would be nice in January…. Just sayin’….
