It’s been a while since I’ve last blogged and figured I should give you all an update on what’s happening around here.
Help for Haiti – What happened in Haiti on Jan 12th was awful. People all over the world are joining together in order to provide some relief for those in need. Knitters are no different. Ravelry has set up a special way for designers to pledge to donate a portion of proceeds from pattern sales to those who need it most. There is a special search option so that you can search for patterns where the designers have pledged a donation based on pattern sales. From today (January 17th) until the end of January, I have pledged on all of my patterns that I will be donating 50% of all proceeds to Doctors Without Borders. During times like this, it is important that we all do our part. If you haven’t already, please check out the growing database of patterns on Ravelry that you can purchase to help a great cause.
Some News – Sometime in May, the Ganiggle Knits Show is going to be launching on the blog as well as on YouTube. You can expect weekly episodes to appear and I think it will be a fun and informative show hosted by yours truly. I am really excited to take on this project and think it will be a great experience. My number one concern is giving the viewers what they want, so while the show is still in its planning stages I want to know what you want! Please comment and let me know what types of segments you would like to see on my show. If you sell a product, book, yarn, or anything like that and you want me to review it on the show, drop me a line at my email address, which is ganiggle AT gmail DOT com, same goes for potential advertisers. So yes, there are already plans for some reviews to happen on the show, but what else? Well… I’ll probably talk about my knitting, share some hints and tips, and I will be making and entire collection of instructional videos and tutorials on knitting, but that will be separate from the show. I was also thinking of doing maybe a viewer’s question and answer period too, once I get viewers of course. So please, drop me a comment and let me know what you, the knitters, want to see on a knitting themed show!
Some Blues – I have not been doing a whole lot of knitting. Or stitch marker making for that matter. The shop has been pretty dormant for a while as I have been in deep thought due to family issues that I will not be discussing here. However, I am hoping to get back into the groove of things shortly, and you should (hopefully!) see some new stitch markers by the end of next week. I definitely want to make up some more coffee bean markers, as they are just so lovely don’t you think? Anyway, here is one thing I have knit recently. It’s called Ripley by Ysolda Teague, and I absolutely love it. It has a glorious pre-slouched design that makes it slouch just perfectly in the back.
I knit it for the Chocolate KAL that is taking place in several of the FGF groups on Ravelry. I’m going to be making this scarf soon as well, so I will be sure to post pics when it is completed (I’ll be casting on tonight, wheeee!)
Don’t forget to comment about the show!

I haven’t been knitting much either…
I love your hat!
